Downward spiral

Bad things happen when you become consumed. Rather, if you have the type of personality of focusing your entire mind and energy on the task at hand, you will eventually find yourself in a downward spiral. For example, I have been working (as have lots of other people in the lab) on the grant directly related to my thesis. This mean lots of data compilation, writing and figure making. Today I had to make 22 figures starting at 5pm. Not that bad because many of them were half made. But because I am so picky, I could not settle on taking certain figures from reviews and the web. No. I re-made them. All of them. Illustrator and Photoshop are my new best friends (esp considering Mike is in Boston). As a result, I forgot to move to for about 4 hours. I mean, I rolled myself over to get a tissue now and then, but I didn't really move. Upon finishing about 5 mins ago, I looked at my foot and found it to be bluish white from the lack of blood. Also, I pulled a muscle in my neck! This is sad. Also, I have consumed more nuts than recommended and have been singing My Humps ( with a little chair dancing, but only waist and above) over and over again.

I finally went to the bathroom and looked at myself and saw a slightly bloated face, pasty (How did I get pasty!?) and devoid of life. I looked the way a cartoonist might depict a computer dork. Like dorky computer programmers/engineers. Boy am I glad I didn't chose that life. Undoubtedly, I would lose my natural yellow pigment and wither away to nothing...

What you gon' do with all that junk? All that junk inside your trunk?
